A Message From Our President
Resolution for 2008: The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce will excel in key things that will make a substantial difference to our membership — not focus on a whole lot of stuff that may not fit our memberships needs.
To be more specific, my 2008 goals will be to focus on what we can excel at and put plans in place for the future growth of the organization. First and foremost, we need to increase membership by incorporating our neighboring towns within our service area. Secondly, have bigger and better events that will continually attract a broader range of members and potential members. Finally, we are dedicated to involving the board of directors and community representatives in a planned visitation program that will attract and keep businesses.
To achieve the goals set forth for 2008, the board or directors, executive director and myself will commit our time to visiting the membership and surveying them to find out where our strengths lie and what areas we can improve upon. As far as our networking events go, history has proven that the best events involve food and drink. I promise you bigger and better after hours events where the atmosphere is fun and relaxing and food and drink are always offered. Increasing our membership will directly have an effect on our bottom line for the better. Membership will not only offer additional businesses in our networking circle, but will allow us to add additional services for the good of the chamber.
The lines of communication are open, please feel free to call me or email me with any questions, concerns or ideas you think are important for the year ahead. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
